The Simple Prospectus · About a 5-minute read
No charts, no jargon, this is what we're building, explained the way we'd tell a neighbor. Want the numbers and the diagrams? The full prospectus is here.
I'm an art dealer. I hunt estate sales and thrift stores for good art that's priced wrong, and I sell it online. The twist: you can ride along live, and buy a piece before I've even paid for it.
Three ways. Watch a live picking trip and claim a piece on the spot. Shop the store later, like any online shop. Or tell us what you're looking for, and we hunt for it.
Because you're doing me a favor. Claim a piece while I'm still holding it in the store, and I buy it already knowing it's sold, zero risk for me. The discount is your share of that. We call it the Field Price. Once I've bought it, cleaned it, and photographed it properly, it costs more, the Studio Price.
A claim is a real card hold, not a comment. No card, no claim. And if I get to the register and find damage I missed, you can cancel, no penalty, no hard feelings.
If a second person contests within 2 minutes, it becomes a short 5-minute auction. Late bids stretch the clock, so nobody wins by sneaking in at the buzzer. Whoever loses gets a small credit toward their next find.
We hunt; we don't promise. Nobody can promise to find a specific painting, anyone who does is lying. But if we find it and you buy it, the fee comes off the price. When it works, the search was free.
Two things. Your Eye: the site learns your taste from what you rate and save, and can tell you, in plain words, why you'll probably like a piece. On Your Wall: photograph your wall once, and any artwork appears on it at its real size. You can even try different frames right there on your wall. That one already works: try it.
We sell those too. You pick the frame while looking at the art on your own wall, which is the moment you actually care about frames. If you're local, we'll deliver it and hang it exactly where the preview showed it.
Eventually, pickers all over the country. They join free, follow the same honesty rules, the app literally won't post a listing without the required photos and grading, and keep roughly 90% of every sale. We take a flat 7%.
Buy art low, sell it fair. Sell frames. Charge small fees for hunts. Take 7% when other pickers sell. Eventually, a membership for early access to new finds. That's the whole list, no ads, no selling your data.
This website and the plan, plus the parts that actually run: the Eye Exam and your reading, matching with plain-English reasons, live claiming with Bid Wars (no payments yet: settling a win is a conversation, not a checkout), On Your Wall including swapping out a piece already on your wall, and the dealer desk. Still to come: payments, the field app, and turning the want list and hunts into things you can buy outright.
Every piece is one of one. If you hesitate, someone else takes it home, that's not a sales trick, it's just what one-of-one means. And when we hunt for you, sometimes we strike out. We'd rather say that here, up front, than promise magic.
